Terms & Conditions - Georgia Online Driver's Education Course - Mobile Version

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY!

COURSE LICENSURE

Costech Technologies Inc. - is licensed by the State of Georgia Department of Driver Services, Program Certification No. LDT 372.

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO ENROLL IN THE ONLINE DRIVER’S EDUCATION COURSE, YOU MUST:

  • Be at least 15 years old,
  • Have access to the Internet (see below for details),
  • Complete the online application form on the next page.
    • You will be required to enter a valid email address - Do not use a school email address.
    • You will be required to enter your Learner’s Permit number. Starts with a 05, 06, 07, and has 9 numbers in total. If you have an out-of-state permit, contact support@costech.com.
  • Pay the course tuition fee. This fee includes all required instructional material and needs to be paid before course activation.

COURSE BREAKDOWN – THE COURSE IS COMPOSED OF:

  • 1 Overview
  • 8 Written Units (with Quizzes and Tests)
  • 1 Final Examination

TIME REQUIREMENTS:

  • The course covers the State-mandated thirty (30) hours of course content. 30 hours is the minimum course time requirement; however, there is no maximum.
  • All course work including the Final Exam must be completed within 180 days. If you do not complete the course within this allotted time frame, you will be required to start over and a reinstatement fee will be applicable.
  • 3 different timers are built-in into this course:
  • 1. Login Time: Your login time is the total amount of time that you have been logged into your online course, regardless of the work completed.
  • 2. Course Time: Your course time is based on the amount of time that you actually spend in the course book, either reading the written information, watching the videos, or taking the Unit Quizzes/Tests. Your course time does not include being logged in; however, completing no coursework.
  • 3. Our system is designed with an Idle Time setting. Once you log in to your online account, if you are inactive for 15 minutes, the system will automatically log you out. That 15 minutes of inactivity will not be calculated in your course time.

*There is a timer on the Login page that will let you know the number of days remaining to complete the course. 

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAMINATION YOU MUST:

  • Read every page of the online textbook, starting with the Overview and then Unit 1 Page 01,
  • Complete all 8 Units in order,
  • Achieve a minimum proficiency of 70% on all Unit Quizzes and Tests, and
  • Meet the minimum course time requirement of 30 hours. If you have not met this minimum course time requirement, you will need to reread the course material until you have a course time of 30 hours.

COURSE COMPLETION AND CERTIFICATION POLICY:
The COURSE PROVIDER is prohibited from issuing a certificate of completion if the student has not met all of the requirements for course completion, and the student shall not accept a certificate under such circumstances.

The Completion Certificate is sent by email once all of the requirements have been met:

  • You have met the minimum course time requirement of 30 hours, and
  • You have completed and passed all 8 Units + the Final Exam with a minimum passing grade of 70%.

Once you PASS the Final Exam, the Certification Department will issue your Completion Certificate and once done, will send you a follow-up email. Completion Certificates are sent via email to the Student and Parent Email Address that we have on file. Our instructor will issue the Completion Certificate within 3 business days after course completion. If you have not received your certificate within this time frame, check your Spam/Junk Mail.

It is your responsibility to make sure that all student information that we have on file is accurate, given that we will use this information to create your certificate. Your Profile information should match the information on your Learner's Permit.

EXPEDITED COMPLETION CERTIFICATES: IF YOU NEED YOUR COMPLETION CERTIFICATE ISSUED BEFORE 3 BUSINESS DAYS:

  • A $25 fee will be applicable.
  • Send an email to support@costech.com
  • Please add the following information in your Email Subject Line: Georgia Expedited Completion Certificate Request, Student Name and/or Student ID.

DUPLICATE COMPLETION CERTIFICATES:
IF A COMPLETION CERTIFICATE IS ISSUED AND YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT VIA EMAIL:

  • You will have 7 days, from the course completion date, to request that it be resent.
  • After 7 days, an $8 Duplicate Completion Certificate fee will be applicable.
  • Send an email to support@costech.com
  • Please add the following information in your Email Subject Line: Georgia Duplicate Completion Certificate Request, Student Name and/or Student ID.

IF A COMPLETION CERTIFICATE IS ISSUED WITH INACCURATE /INCORRECT INFORMATION:

  • It is your responsibility to make sure that all student information that we have on file is accurate, given that we will use this information to create your certificate.
  • If WE misentered the information, we will issue a new certificate with the correct information, free of charge.
    If YOU did not provide accurate student information, you will be charged an $8 fee.
  • Send an email to support@costech.com
  • Please add the following information in your Email Subject Line: Georgia Completion Certificate Correction Request, Student Name and/or Student ID.

PAYMENTS AND REFUND POLICIES
Course payment goes to: Costech Technologies or Costech USA
Your payment receipt will appear under the names Costech Technologies Inc., Costech Technologies, or Costech USA.

Once payment is received, you will be notified via email. If you did not make this payment or have payment-related questions, please contact the COURSE PROVIDER immediately. Note: Payments can only be made by Credit Card, not Debit Card.

You will have 7 days, from the date of registration, to request a refund. A refund can be made on condition that you state your reason for requesting a refund AND before completion of the online course. A $10 administrative fee will apply.

Refund Terms: All refunds are processed within 24 business hours. The refund will be credited to your original method of payment. Please note, it can take up to 10 days for the refund to show on your end.

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

The course will be available to the student 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your accessibility may be affected by, but not limited to: your Internet provider, your computer capability, firewall, browser settings, etc. which the COURSE PROVIDER cannot control. We do offer Technical Support to assist you in possibly solving these issues.

The COURSE PROVIDER prescribes minimum hardware and software requirements for completing the course.

Android Users: To run a new Android app built with Angular and Ionic, the mobile hardware must meet certain requirements to ensure smooth performance and compatibility. Here are the general hardware requirements:

  • Operating System: The device should run on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher.
  • CPU: The device should have at least a quad-core processor. A newer device with an octa-core processor or better will provide smoother performance.
  • RAM: A minimum of 2GB of RAM is recommended. However, for better performance, especially with more complex applications, 4GB or more is preferable.
  • Storage: The app itself will need space, but ensure there is sufficient storage for app data and cache. A device with at least 16GB of internal storage is recommended, though 32GB or more is better.
  • Screen Resolution: The device should support at least a 720p resolution (1280x720). Full HD (1920x1080) or higher resolutions will provide a better user experience.
  • Connectivity: The device should have active internet connectivity (Wi-Fi or cellular data) for apps that require real-time data.
  • Battery: A device with a large battery capacity is preferable to ensure long usage times, especially when location services are being used, which can drain the battery quickly.

Apple Users: To run a new iOS app built with Angular and Ionic, the iOS device should meet certain hardware and software requirements to ensure optimal performance and compatibility. Here are the general requirements for an iOS device:

  • Operating System: The device should run on iOS 11.0 or higher. However, targeting iOS 13.0 or higher is advisable for better performance and access to newer features.
  • Device Compatibility: The app should be compatible with the following devices:
    • iPhone 6s and newer models
    • iPad Air 2 and newer models
    • iPad mini 4 and newer models
    • iPad Pro (all models)
  • CPU: The device should have an Apple A9 chip or newer. Newer models with an A12 Bionic chip or better will provide smoother performance.
  • RAM: A minimum of 2GB of RAM is recommended. However, for better performance, especially with more complex applications, 3GB or more is preferable.
  • Storage: The app itself will need space, but ensure there is sufficient storage for app data and cache. A device with at least 16GB of internal storage is recommended, though 32GB or more is better.
  • Screen Resolution: The device should support at least a Retina display. Higher resolutions (e.g., 750 x 1334 pixels for iPhone 6/6s/7/8) will provide a better user experience.
  • Connectivity: The device should have active internet connectivity (Wi-Fi or cellular data) for apps that require real-time data.
  • Battery: A device with a large battery capacity is preferable to ensure long usage times, especially when location services are being used, which can drain the battery quickly.
  • Development and Testing: To ensure compatibility and performance, testing the app on multiple devices and iOS versions is crucial.

CIRCUMVENTION WARNING
The STUDENT agrees that HE/SHE, and not any other person, will study the material in its entirety and complete the 8 Units, Quizzes, Tests, and Final Exam. It is illegal to attempt to circumvent this Online State-Approved Course or provide false information. If the COURSE PROVIDER discovers that the STUDENT has willfully misrepresented himself or has cheated, the STUDENT will be stopped from taking the course with no refund of the registration fees.

PRIVACY STATEMENT
The COURSE PROVIDER is required to collect information from its users at several different times and locations. The COURSE PROVIDER will not use or sell this information to promote products or services unrelated to this course, or in ways different from what is disclosed in the Terms & Conditions.

All registration information is strictly confidential and is only used for identification of the students registered on the site. Student personal information is encrypted and can only be retrieved and viewed through the reporting features of the COURSE PROVIDER program. Any and all information is only accessible by an Administrator or Instructor who has been granted the proper authorization. Such instances include but are not limited to, modifications to personal information, progress reports and logs, and if applicable, creation of Completion Certificates.

I understand:
When communicating or corresponding with the COURSE PROVIDER Administrators, Instructors, and support personnel, I must NOT use abusive or offensive language. If I use abusive or offensive language, I may be suspended or removed from this course and not receive a certificate of completion or a refund.

I, not any other person, will study the material in this course, and I will not willfully misrepresent myself or cheat. Should I do so, I will be stopped from taking this course and not receive a certificate of completion or a refund.
